enrichment wk! :)
woahhhh! i really v long nv blog alrdy.. hehe sorry ppl.. was lyk v sian, din hav much time to blog too.. but yupp since it's e enrichment wks i shall use e time to blog ba..
hmmm well e end of hols i din do much la, but when sch reopened we started studying lohh *duh*.. haha, e basics la, go sch, study, come home, sleep. ya hahah. dance started last wk, coz we had to prep for some constituency's national day gala dinner.. doing e syf item.. haha yupp.
last wk's enrichment wk.. i had a social skills workshop, integrated circuits talk, dialogue wif e feedback unit of e govt, self reflection workshop, film techniques lecture, powerpoint workshop. haha ya tt was last wk.. hmmm let me elab on each abit okay?
social skills.. hmmm nth much, but we did alot of group work, and noe how to ask questions to get ppl to open up, stuff..
integrated circuits.. it has two parts, one was held last wk, one today.. hmm today's lecture super long and boring.. ya but quite interesting, abt ic chips, transistors, stuff..
dialogue wif feedback unit.. hmmm well e main question put out by us is tt isnt e students' indifference to e country and its state a problem? how come schools spend so much on NE, but students almost detest it? view it as propaganda? how can we ensure loyalty in our students, whom are to be future leaders of e country? through NE? i dont think it would b safe or right to think so. ya.. hmmm then i rber e nxt day miss ng (mei sze, ip hod) was lyk giving me a killer look.. diaoz i donno, i don mean to sound lyk i'm totally against NE but i was jus voicing out wat is really happening at e student level. if ppl want to cont thinking tt NE will make students love e country, i hav nth else to say.. i hav nth against miss ng, i think she's a nice person, but it's jus i guess she isnt v nice to students lyk me who are not v outstanding in our studies?
self reflection.. tt was totally totally.. WAHH. as in, we totally din expect to b taking care of old ppl. i don mean to say tt i hav no heart for e elderly, but looking at e name of e course, and e synopsis, where on earth did e word "elderly" appear? we din even expect it la.. okay enuff said.
film techniques lecture.. hmmm quite okay la, managed to watch films mahh so was quite fun la..
powerpoint course.. haha coz i needed hours so i signed up for this.. but learnt a few features of powerpoint tt i've nv known..
hmmm tt was first wk.. then sat i went dwn to church for rehearsal for service e nxt day, and on sunday played for both fellowship and service :S thank God pulled thru..
ya hmmm second wk.. okay i think u guys read eyes pain alrdy la, rest awhile.. keep scrolling dwn when u're done yupp :)
haha okie think tt's sufficient.. monday this wk watched a film 'weather underground'. quite interesting, but it's a documentary, pretty serious kind.. u can hear total silence in e LT la.. e film was until 10 30 :) haha technically we were allowed to leave but my group wanted to discuss our project.. so clemence phoebe zi wei and me gathered in e canteen, yingshean's still in germany.. yupp we discussed there until ard 12 30.. haha v funny, we got most of e planning done, jus left e execution.. yupp then coz it was raining and stuff zi wei phoebe and i went up to class.. saw sharon chin and runyu there too.. ya then did some work until ard 2, then left.. haha ya..
tues, went to kusu island! haha, we were supposed to gather at ard 7 50 at e atrium. and when e teacher was taking attendence by class e canoeists were not ard yet.. so e teacher asked us to call them quickly so we cld move out earlier.. i called zi wei, donno if charmaine called huiming, ya then they hurried over. they had training in e morn, coz nationals were ystday, today and tml.. hmmm ya then later e entire mass of us were divided into 4 groups of 15.. yupp my group had charmaine, sharon lourdes, lucinda, weiling, jessica, an chi, myself, sui hang, zi wei, dexian, jeremy, scott, shenxiang, woonjeck, wenshu, .. haha our group had 16 ppl instead.. yupp. hmmm don feel lyk gg into e details too much, but we took a bus into sentosa, and took a ferry from e ferry terminal.. kusu island was super small la.. took less than 15mins to walk ard it.. haha ya then we started e treasure hunt.. ran ard.. haha. there was a chinese temple, wif a wishing well, sculpture of two giant tortoises, a tortoise shelter wif many terrapins (haha), a muslim temple up on a hill.. got to climb alot of steps up.. ya, then aft e hunt (more lyk station games la, reach e correct place do a task tt kind of thing), we had lunch, brought own food.. but many din bring enuff, so went to e temple where e auntie and uncle cooked.. $3 per plate! wahh daylight robbery.. but i guess they had to.. rare chance lei got so many hungry teenagers :) hmmm then we were supposed to go explore marine life in e sea, but it started pouring. wahh we got in e water wif shoes alrdy, then less than 5 mins later we had to get out of e water coz it was raining to heavily. ya, then we jus stayed in shelter for sometime until e rain got lighter and we resumed our tour of e sea :) saw many interesting things la, lyk a sand dollar and e moult of a flowercrab.. ya then aft tt we went back to sentosa, grabbed food at bk, then went back.. ya tt was my day :)
ystday.. had finance for teens.. quite okay la.. then went for chinese karaoke. haha i super outdated when it comes to chinese songs.. so i basically stoned and chipped in when i hear a sentence i find familar ;) haha in e end i had no choice but to choose a couple of english songs.. ya then coco and i went back to sch for dance.. hehe dedicated westerndancers! :)
today, integrated circuit talk part 2.. ya it was really v long so many ppl slept.. haha, then i had nth aft tt, so i went dwn to stage image to buy pointe shoes.. old ones too soft and dirty.. yupp then i came home and did this! haha yupp..
hmmm okie shall go do other stuff.. e post below this is actually done on e same day, but so as to give ur eyes a break.. haha yupp.. go read it too yupp :)

dance!! :)
hmmm recently i hav been reading ballet novels.. niceeee! haha i started wif reading 'dancing in red shoes will kill you', then 'angelfish' by lawrence yep, then 'ribbons', also by lawrence yep, then 'thursday's children' by rumer godden, then 'all e blue moons at the wallace hotel' by phoebe stone, and finally 'a dance of sisters' by tracey porter.. all are really nice.. but for me to rank and grade them.. i guess:
1) thursday's children
2) a dance of sisters
3) angelfish
4) ribbons
5) all e blue moons at e wallace hotel
6) dancing in red shoes will kill you
thursday's children is THE NICEST! really, e rest i could finish in 2 days, but this book i took v long to finish.. coz it's plot is really more complex, and has many quirks here and there, so wat happens nxt isnt v predictable.. v interesting read.. really really :) e most ballet one of all.. e rest is more abt e storyline, using ballet as e background. this made ballet and e storyline almost inseparable..
a dance of sisters.. well it's lyk e younger and simpler version of thursday's children, mainly ballet too, portraying a young dancer's life.. but of course thursday's children is my pick la.. this book 'a dance of sisters' really showed e struggles of a dancer la..
angelfishh.. hmmm tt was a nice story too, post trauma of e chinese revolutions.. ya how a used to b well-known dancer picked himself up wif e help of a young ballerina..
ribbons.. also abt ancient chinese culture in modern context.. ribbons tt bound feet, ribbons used in ballet.. ya..
all e blue moons at e wallace hotel.. hmmm quite nice too, abt a single mother taking care of two daughters, elder daughter wif e passion to dance, but too poor to afford lessons, hav a gd fren who always comes over to stay.. house was up on a hill, passed dwn possession.. smth lyk a heirloom.. ya it was super big, wif steps, ballroom.. so e elder daughter keeps waking up early to prac ballet before gg to sch, until finally her hard work pays off, and her friend's ballet teacher saw her dancing n recognized her talent..
dancing in red shoes will kill you.. well it was a v v american novel.. ya it was alittle crude, but it's pointe was loud and clear: why are dancers judged according to how they look instead of their actual technique? why do thin dancers get better parts compared to their plumper yet better in technique counterparts? yupp..
hmmmm since thursday's children is so nice, shall not spoil e surprise by telling u guys e story.. go check it out urselves! it's really really nice la.. haha i sound lyk i'm advertising e book.. but i hope there'll b a dvd on it mannn.. really nice :)
haha okie i shall add to this list when i get more books yupp? ballet, dance, rawks!! :)
